Obedience Training
Whether you have a puppy, older dog, or a rescue, our Canine Academy training classes can help your pet learn how to behave appropriately at home and out-and-about. Our Certified Obedience Trainer uses positive reinforcement techniques to ensure learning is not only effective but also fun for both, the pet and pet parent.
Our goal is to help solve your dog training obstacles and make your pet the best family member possible. It all starts with helping you develop a strong relationship with your dog by teaching basic concepts that apply to all dogs – impulse control, manners and appropriate socialization. Our training focuses on being consistent and fair when teaching your furry companion skills that will improve your pet’s life and help them be the best pet they can be.
All classes are six-weeks long and last one hour each week. With small class size, approximately ten, your pet will receive the personalized attention needed from a trainer.

Puppy Kindergarten
Puppy Kindergarten is a class designed for beginners, puppies 10 Weeks to five months old, and will get your puppy off on the right paw. This class is all about introducing your puppy to basic concepts of impulse control, manners, and socialization. Our Canine Academy will help you lay the foundation for a trusting relationship. Your puppy is like a sponge and needs to understand what you want from them, and you need to get to know your puppy’s personality. During socialization time, puppies are able to interact with different people and other puppies, which teaches correct behavior and confidence.
This class covers basic manners, socialization, relationship forming games, exercise techniques, problem prevention and tips for puppy health, grooming, and nutrition.
Puppy Kindergarten starts with an open discussion time where you can bring up questions you may have. Our instructors are happy to answer and help you with the challenges you are having with your puppy. We keep our classes small, approximately ten puppies, to ensure we can give you individual attention.
Course Length: 6 weeks, 1 hour each week.
Requirements: Must be current on all vaccinations appropriate to age.

Beginning Home Manners
Beginning Home Manners is a perfect start for puppies over 5 months old and adult dogs that haven’t had previous training. This class takes basic concepts like impulse control, manners and proper socialization, and helps you work with your dog to improve their skills and build on skills learned in Puppy Kindergarten. This class is perfect for adolescent dogs and older dogs who need a better understanding of basic commands and how to respond to them when distractions are present. It increases the trust part of your relationship with your dog by helping you communicate in a clear and consistent manner so that your dog understands what they are expected to do.
This class covers simple cues such as sit, come, down, and others, problem-solving, home manners, relationship forming games, canine health, grooming, and nutrition.
Beginning Home Manners starts with an open discussion about training needs and concerns for your dog. We keep our classes small, approximately ten puppies, which allows for time to go over questions and training concepts with your instructor. Our goal is to help you improve your relationship with your dog, and improve his self-control and manners. This class is the perfect place to work on those skills.
Course Length: 6 weeks, 1 hour each week.
Requirements: Age: 5 months or older, or dogs that have not received previous training.
Vaccines: Must be current on Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Corona.

Intermediate Obedience
Our Intermediate Obedience class is meant to challenge you and your dog, and build on basic skills learned in Beginning Home Manners, with the introduction of more complicated public behaviors. This class is a good intermediate step before going into the Advanced Canine Good Citizen class. Practical and fun activities are used to help increase your dog’s self-control and listening skills.
Training includes distractions which are used to solidify manners, such as “stay”, “wait”, and “come”. Social skills are increased by having dogs learn to stay while other dogs are working, and work through more challenging distractions for recalls and polite greetings.
This class includes a brief review of basic cues, learning despite distractions, relationship forming games, and more advanced instruction building on the skills covered in previous classes.
Advanced Obedience classes have fewer dogs, which gives you time for your instructor to answer questions and work on challenges specific to you and your dog. This class introduces “real life” situations in a safe and controlled environment, and helps you increase your dog’s skills, which will prepare you for higher level training classes like agility, therapy prep or other dog sports/activities.

Adult Advanced Obedience (Canine Good Citizen Class)
The Adult Advanced Obedience Class is an AKC sanctioned class designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. As you work with your dog to teach the Canine Good Citizen skills, you will discover the many benefits and joys of training your dog. In this class, we will reinforce and practice the skills necessary to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test. Dogs must have completed and graduated from the Intermediate class prior to enrolling in this class. The class concludes with the AKC CGC Test. Successful graduates will then earn a CGC Title.
This class includes skill development of sitting politely for petting, advanced loose leash walking and heeling, specialized games to build reliability, and learning amid increased distractions.
Course Length: 6 weeks, 1 hour each week.
Requirements: Prerequisite: Intermediate Obedience
Vaccines: Must be current on Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, and Corona.

Private Lessons
We offer private lessons in our Canine Academy that are tailored to the individual needs of the dog and pet owner. Each private lesson is fifty minutes long and conducted by our Certified Obedience Trainer. A minimum of three private lessons is recommended to achieve a successful resolution. Private lessons may also be scheduled as “makeup classes” for those that just need extra practice while enrolled in a CPC Canine Academy classes. All private lessons are conducted in our Canine Academy Training Room.

Lodge and Learn
Lodge and Learn offers an opportunity for your dog to be privately and professionally trained by our training team during their hospitality stay with us. Upon completion of session package (check out from hospitality or daycare), consultation with the handler and Certified Obedience Trainer will be scheduled.
Price: Single session, $20.00
Package Pricing and Consultation Time: 3 Session and 30 Minute Consult, $70.00; 6 Sessions and 50 Minute Consult, $175.00
Behavior Consultation
This is an approximate 30-minute consultation with our Certified Obedience Trainer for non-aggression issues. Dogs with aggression issues must first have a behavior or medical visit with a CPC Doctor. At that time the doctor may refer the pet to the Certified Obedience Trainer. The dog must be present for the evaluation.

Doggie Day Care Evaluations
Clearance with a Doggie Day Care Evaluation allows your pup the ability to play in a group setting with other dogs during their Day Care stay. The evaluation includes a behavior assessment conducted by our Certified Obedience Trainer. Evaluation includes training area tour.
Paw Pals Club
The Paw Pals Club is a club to provide opportunities for socialization and fun interaction with other like-minded pet owners. The club will meet throughout the month for fun learning activities, building on the skills your pet has already learned. Graduation from a Central Pet Care Canine Academy class is required to participate. Weekly, Monthly or Yearly, memberships are available.
