Your pet is part of your family, so choosing a veterinary practice is an important decision. At Central Pet Care in Carthage, we feel certain that we can meet your needs. We work hard to provide the same high-quality care we want for our own pets. We’ve built our practice on a commitment to a high standard of care, and we’re dedicated to maintaining your pet’s long-term health, comfort, and happiness.
Central Pet Care in Carthage is a full-service animal hospital. That means we provide quality diagnostic, surgery, and dental care, as well as ongoing routine preventive and pet wellness services. We also provide grooming and boarding, and emergency services. When it comes to your pet’s healthcare, we take a personal approach, and we back up caring with the best in veterinary technology and experience.
We like to involve you, the pet owner, in every aspect of your pet’s care. From your first phone call, our staff is pleased to answer any questions you may have or advise you about our general policies and procedures. We take the time to listen and provide informed and personal counsel and treatment plans, because we believe a knowledgeable pet owner makes the best decisions. After all, no one knows a pet as well as the owner.
So that we can get to know you and your pet, we ask that all new clients at Central Pet Care have an initial wellness exam. This allows our veterinarians to perform a complete checkup to diagnose any initial problems and determine a course of treatment. Please be sure to bring the following with you to your first appointment:
• List of symptoms or signs of illness
• Any previous medical records
• List of medications and dosages
• X-rays or other lab results
To get started, simply contact our office at 417-358-1300 to schedule an appointment. Arrive early to fill out a new client registration form or submit our convenient online form in advance. We can’t wait to meet you and your pet, and to welcome you to the Central Pet Care family!

We provide after-hours emergency services to our existing clients. Emergency calls placed to our hospital after hours are forwarded to a doctor’s cell phone.
We accept scheduled appointments and walk-ins. Appointments are encouraged and appreciated.
We do not have someone on the premises after hours and therefore do not offer overnight stays for patients as veterinary care service.
